How are our prefabricated coaxial cables made?
We offer our customers the option of having individual or pre-assembled cables manufactured in small and large series as well as in different variants of connector types, cable lengths and cable types. This is all done in-house and enables a high degree of flexibility in production for our customers. But how exactly does the process from raw material to finished cable work? We would like to explain this to you in this article.
The materials for our cables
For us, everything starts with the selection of high-quality materials. We attach great importance to using carefully selected materials to ensure that our products meet the highest quality standards. Whether connectors, heat-shrink tubing or the cables themselves – every single element is carefully selected.
Stripping coaxial cable
Cable assembly is an art in itself. It requires not only technical know-how, but also the right tools and equipment. We use high-quality materials from various manufacturers for our pre-assembled coaxial cables. These differ in terms of flexibility, material thickness and electrical properties. The first step in assembling the cables correctly is to strip the insulation. This process is carried out cleanly and professionally down to the millimeter using special tools and equipment.
Crimping and shrinking
Our assembly process comprises several steps, including crimping the connectors. This involves connecting the pin, plug and cable under high pressure. We use crimping pliers or crimping presses to ensure that a perfect and secure connection is created. A high tensile strength is crucial here to ensure that the cables do not come loose during use.
For protection, the cable connection is given a protective sleeve in the form of a shrink tube. This is shrunk using a high-performance hairdryer to provide additional protection against environmental influences.
Testing and packaging
Finally, all pre-assembled cables are tested to ensure that everything is working properly. We carefully check every connection and every contact. Depending on customer requirements, the goods are then packaged and shipped to ensure that they arrive safely and undamaged.
